Seminar started with presentation by partners (UPTC, CETEM/KIT, USM, UKM and UPM). The plenary session was carried out after the presentation. The expert in the industry has expressed their opinion about the project Making 4.0. The Erasmus speaker then explained in detail about the program.

Visit to LY Furniture

We would like to thank LY board & management team for warm welcome and excellent presentation of company with long history. During the visit seminar with with management team provided valuable insights on state of company and whole furniture industry. Obviously, se had a chance to present an overview of MAKING 4.0 project, thank you again Ly Family 🙂

Making 4.0 Seminar No2

Seminar consisted of presentations by all partners (UPTC, CETEM/KIT, MTIB, USM, UKM and UPM). Session dealt with analysis of timber industry in Malaysia, and analysis of extent of automation and readiness for Oncoming Industry 4.0 revolution in this sector. From the project’s perspective, Goals and challenges in joing European and Malaysian efforts in HE capacity building were presented. Most essential part of the seminar was presentation of proposed Joint Curriculum for a Master Degree in industry4.0 for the Malaysian industry, and analysis of Intellectual property rights in Academic and Furniture sector

Malaysian Partners Meeting

Malaysian Partners Meeting discusses several issues and updates the performances related to the MAKING4.0 project. The agenda is to revisit the status of MOA, Guideline of fundings (EU and Malaysian Treasurer) (including VAT, Monthly Timesheets and Open tender procedures), Work Packages and Deliverable, Equipment Acquisition Plan, Reviewing Programme Learning Outcomes (PLO) proposed by CETEM and Code of Practice for Programme Accreditation (COPPA), Preparation of 3rd Meeting of MAKING4.0 for Kuala Lumpur and Sabah, etc.

Special Meeting with the Panels from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) at Cyberjaya, Malaysia

On August 29, 2019 Special Meeting with the panels led by the Chief Director of Policy and Strategic Planning Division, the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) on the establishment of a new programme of Malaysian-European cooperation on Erasmus+ for Master’s Degree (Wood and Furniture towards Industry4.0) with MAKING4.0 Malaysian partners from the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Malaysian Timber Industry Board (MTIB) at the MQA headquarters, Mercu MQA, No. 3539, Jalan Teknokrat 7, Cyber 5, 63000 Cyberjaya. In that particular meeting, the delegates discussed issues on the National Education Code (NEC), Code of Practice for Programme Accreditation (COPPA) and Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF2.0).

The second meeting of Improving Malaysian Higher Education Knowledge Towards Wood and Furniture Industry 4.0 (MAKING 4.0) was held from 29 June to 7 July at Warsaw University of Life Sciences (WULS) in Warsaw, Poland. The Malaysian delegates were involved in a series of seminars and meetings with their European counterparts, a tour of the Wood Technology Department facilities in WULS and a courtesy visit to the Malaysia Embassy in Warsaw, Poland. The delegates were also able to participate in a historical tour of Warsaw, Poland, organised by WULS on 6 July.

Making 4.0 Seminar No1

1st Seminar of the project was held July 2nd 2019. Seminar was opened by Professor Dr hab. Michał Jerzy Zasada, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Warsaw University of Life Sciences (WULS), who briefly presented the possibility of international cooperation. and  wished fruitful work and meeting to ALL partners of MAKING 4.0.

All project partners MAKING 4.0 presented their Universities, their teaching system, and presented opportunities for cooperation. In the meeting with students and industry representatives participates. All together are sixty one people. At the seminar were: WULS students, WULS researchers and industry representatives.

Seminar presented analysis and comparison of the current HE training offer in furniture and woodworking industry in Malaysia, and analysis of responses from Wood/Furniture/ Habitat Industry (types of products manufactured v market type) in EU, which should became base for further teaching program development
